Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therapy can be performed to save a tooth that has been traumatized, injured or has a diseased nerve due to severe tooth decay.   Inside the crown and roots of each tooth, lies a soft tissue (pulp) / nerve which provides nutrients and feeling to the tooth.   When this area becomes diseased or injured, the pulp tissue surrounding the nerve and the nerve itself becomes infected and abscessed which can be extremely painful.  With Root Canal Therapy, Dr. Garcia can provide you with immediate relief and can save the injured / infected tooth from having to be extracted.  This procedure involves removing the infected pulp nerve of the tooth, then sanitizing and properly sealing off the canals to prevent further infection from occurring.  A Crown is then placed over that tooth to fully protect and restore it.  Most of the time, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort. Best of all, it can save your teeth and your smile!
